President's Message
A new season is just around the corner; and I want to start by thanking all members of the Fall Creek league for making the 2007 season a great one. A special thank you goes to our departing Treasurer / past President Tom Hess. Tom along with his wife Diane worked over 10 years to promote FCLL and their tireless effort to improve our league will be surely missed.
The 2007 season was again marked by great league play in the girls and boys divisions. Nearly 400 boys and over 200 girls displayed the true meaning of team play and sportsmanship in over 500 regular and season ending tournament games. The 2007 Season was capped by successful performances by FCLL teams in all-star competition. Some highlights from FLCC All Star teams;
> Girls 12 & under team winning the District 8 Title and finishing second in the state Tournament.
> Boys 12 & under team advancing to the Semis/ Finals of the District 8 Tournament.
> Boys10 & under team advancing to the Semis/Finals of the District 8 Tournament.
> Boys 8 & under Gold team won the Fortville Tournament – 2nd at the Mt. Comfort Tournament
> Boys 7 & under Blue team winning the FCLL Invitational – 2nd Place at the OYO Memorial Tournament – 2nd Place at the Fortville Tournament
The Spring/Summer season at FCLL concluded with the hosting of the Boys 12 year old District tournament. Our Fall Ball program continues to grow and excel, and it was nice to see all of the FCLL fields active until late October.
Several major improvements were made to our facility last year including:
- Installation of dugout roofs on all diamonds
- New benches for all dugouts
- Purchasing and installing new batting cage nets
- Renovation of Commons Field
- Renovation of Burton Field
- Remodeling of the Concession Stand and Pavilion Area
I will continue to upgrade and improve FCLL this season. The youth of today have the same dreams as those youngsters who played when I first became involved in little league over 20 years ago. They desire a chance to learn the game of baseball/softball, make new friends, and spend their leisure time in a safe environment. I welcome all new members to the FCLL family and look forward to seeing everyone at the park this year.
