DRAFT PROCEDURE

1. Head coach’s names will be placed in hat and drawn for order of draft. Draft will follow a snake format.  (e.g., If there are 4 teams the order of the draft will be: 1,2,3,4,4,3,2,1,1,2,3,4 etc.)
2. Once all evaluated players have been drafted, any players without evaluation will be placed on teams in alphabetical order.
3. After all players are drafted/assigned, coaches will select team name.  The order of the selection will go from last to first based on the original draft order. Each coach must select a team from a name/color that has not been previously selected.
4
. Coaches will select preseason practice day.  The order of selection will be from first to last based on the original draft order. This practice day is only guaranteed until games begin. Once games begin, a practice schedule will be posted based on number of teams and available resources.
5
. Any player trades must occur during the round player is selected, to ensure parity.

Draft Rules

FCSB IS COMMITTED TO FAIR PLAY, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND SPORTSMANSHIP.
OUR DRAFT PROCESS IS DESIGNED FOR BALANCED TEAMS WITH THE ABILITY TO GROW AND SUCCEED.

1. Only coaches and board members are present. Players do not need to be present.
2. The only automatic placement players are the children of the Head Coach and one Assistant coach for each team. "Children" is defined as coach’s child by birth or adoption. ALL AUTOMATIC PLACEMENT PLAYERS MUST BE EVALUATED OR THEY WILL BE SELECTED AS FIRST ROUND PLAYERS. Only one assistant coach will have a player(s) assigned.  Players for additional assistants will need to be drafted or traded for during the round they are selected.
3. Siblings, in the same league, are automatically placed on the same team.
4. Trades for friends, rides, coaches or any other reason require certain conditions to be met.
A. All players concerned must be evaluated
B. All coaches concerned must be willing to execute required trades
C. Division Commissioner or League President must approve
D. All trades must occur during the round player is selected, to ensure parity.
5. There are no trades, after the draft. Players may be moved by FCSB to correct for players in wrong age division or siblings in same division mistakenly placed on different teams. If absolutely, necessary, players may be moved by FCSB to resolve disparities in roster size.6. Late registrants (after draft) will be placed on the team with the KNOWN, CONFIRMED smallest roster, at the time of placement. Coaches must keep league informed of roster changes, to ensure parity. FCSB strives to keep rosters between 10 and 13 players to balance need for 9 players for games and playing time for all players

EXPLANATION AND EXAMPLES
1.       Coaches’ children are selected in the round determined by their evaluation score.
a.      If Coach Smith's son has an evaluation placing him in the third round, Coach Smith chooses players in the first two rounds and automatically get his child in the third round.
b. If Coach Smith's child is unevaluated, he will be placed in the first round.
c. If Coach Smith and his Assistant Coach both have unevaluated children, they will be placed in the first two rounds.
d. If a Head Coach and his Assistant have children, with an evaluation score placing them in the same round, the coach automatically gets those players and will not pick in the next round.
2. If siblings have an evaluation score placing them in the first and fourth rounds, the coach selecting sibling in the first round automatically gets sibling in fourth round, as his pick.
3. If siblings have an evaluation score placing them in the same round, the coach automatically gets both siblings and will not pick in the next round.
4. If an evaluated player has a request or special circumstance, a trade may be executed, to accommodate. Both coaches and the league must agree to trade. Trade must happen during the round player is selected, to ensure parity.
5. Requests cannot be used to manipulate the strength of teams. If an unevaluated player has a request, it cannot be acted upon.
